New trots record

PA Hawera The Pukekohe reinsman, Tony Herlihy, with six winning drives at the Hawera Trotting Club’s meeting yesterday, has broken the record for the number of winning drives in a season. Herlihy’s winning drives yesterday increased his tally to 103 with two months of the season remaining. The previous best was Peter Wolfenden’s 101 in the 197475 season. Three of Herlihy’s wins yesterday were with favourites.
