Church concert
A public concert will be given in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday afternoon as part of the New Zealand Organists' Association National Congress.
Members of the association from throughout the country will join the Cathedral Choir to perform Handel’s Coronation Anthem, “Zadok the Priest” and the Bach cantata “Sleepers Wake.”
The soloists will be Jillian Bartram and James Baines. Both works will be conducted by Don Whelan, who is also the organist for the “Organ Symphony” by Saint-Saens. For this work players from as far as Dunedin will swell the’ranks of a community orchestra led by David Vine. The concert will be at 3 p.m.
