Bus queue peppered
NZPA-Reuter Colombo Separatist Tamil guerrillas killed 78 people including five nuns, several other women, and children in an attack on the ancient Sinhalese capital of Anurdahapura yesterday, said a Sri Lankan Government spokesman. It was the biggest massacre of civilians in the campaign by Tamil guerril-
las fighting to set up a separate state, he said. The guerrilla group drove into the predominantly Sinhalese city of Anurdahapura in North Central Province in two buses and for about half an hour sprayed the streets with bullets. Most of the dead had been waiting to board a bus, officials said.
