Mr Douglas thwarted

Sir,—l grow vegetables in my back garden. I sell them to my wife. She pays me from the housekeeping allowance I give her. People may think this rather a silly arrangement, even a miserable one on my part; rather like taxing the profits of the Post Office. Now I find my profits threatened by GST. I am going to thwart Mr Douglas by giving the vegetables to my wife.—Yours, etc.,

S. V. GLASGOW. May 4, 1985.
