Shanghai - has shortage of workers
NZPA-AP Peking Shanghai has no unemployment and will be 60,000 workers short by 1987, the city’s labour bureau has claimed. China’s biggest industrial city, with a population of 12 million, has a labour force of 4.87 million. But more than 270,000 will retire in the next three years while only 210,000 young people will leave school and enter the job market, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
