Answer to a shaman’s prayers
NZPA Staff Correspondent Washington Farmers in droughtstricken north-east Montana started vigils last week to pray for rain. Rain fell the first night, and by the week-end 2.5 cm had fallen. Forecasters credited a storm moving in from the Pacific, but the vigil organiser, the Rev. Jeremiah Olson, maintained that "it shows you the power of God.”
The three-day weather forecast for the area is for continuing sunshine.
