Akorinos arrested
NZPA-AFP Nairobi Nineteen members of a Christian sect, the Akorinos, were jailed for three months by a court in Nakiiru, central Kenya, for refusing to have their photographs taken. They told the court that God forbade them to have themselves photographed,
even for the obligatory national identity card, the “Daily Nation” newspaper reported. The newspaper said the magistrate ordered local prison officials to use force if necessary to obtain photographs of the 19 so that they could be issued with identity cards.
