Players cautious

Canterbury All Blacks generally adopted a cautious view when asked last evening about their availability for the rugby tour of South Africa. Only one, Murray Davie, the Albion prop forward, said he was definitely available. Wayne Smith (Belfast), the captain of the New Zealand Sevens team in Hong Kong last month, and Craig Green (Shirley), who has just started a new job, said they were undecided. Albert Anderson (Southbridge) had no comment to make on his stance but confirmed that he would be available, . if selected, to play against England in Christchurch and Wellington early in June. Jock Hobbs, who cap-

tained the All Blacks in Australia last year, said he was not able to give a yes or no because the tour was “a long way off.” If he was fortunate enough to be selected he would consider the possibilities then. Warwick Taylor had no comment to make.
