Three still in hospital
Three women who were injured after an explosion and flash fire at the factory of Independent Fisheries, Ltd, in Woolston on Friday were all reported in a satisfactory condition in Burwood Hospital last evening. Mary Roberts, Lelei Levy, and Gloriana Hills suffered
burns in the fire, which apparently was caused by an electrical fault in the heat-exchanger in the processing department. Another five people were taken to Christchurch Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and minor burns. They were treated and discharged.
