Badminton numbers uncertain

The A grade inter-club badminton competition in Christchurch this season has been set down for April 13, although the number of competing clubs has yet to be finalised. It is almost certain that there will be fewer than 10 clubs involved, as in 1984. The lower grades are due to begin on May 6, although that date might be changed to avoid a clash with the test match between China and New Zealand in Christ-

church on that date. Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Badminton Association held recently were: Patroness, Lady Marion Skellerup; president, N. Gardiner, vice-president, G. Thompson; secretary, Mrs A. Smith; committee, Mesdames R. Askew, L. Bassett. N. Forbes, S. Goddard, S. Phillips; Misses H. Flynn, M. Mockett; J. Morrish, D. Oberg, M. Rosengrave, R. Wheeler, M. Eves.
