Jubilee service in Cathedral
About 500 people attended a thanksgiving and rededication service in Christchurch Cathedral yesterday, marking the golden jubilee of the Crippled Children Society. Singing was led by a choir of disabled people from the society’s adult section. Those present included disabled people, families and friends of the society, and other service groups. Guest speakers were the chairman of the International Year for Disabled People committee, Miss Ann Ballin, and the Mayor of Riccarton, Mr Richard Harrington.
