‘Star’ printers end strike
The Christchurch “Star” will be published today for the first time since February 14. The president of the Can-terbury-Westland branch of the Printing Trades Union, Mr John Williams, said yes-
terday that a meeting of the 90 printers at the "Star” yesterday afternoon had agreed to return to work today. They went on strike on February 15 in support of a claim for a wage rise in line with the printers
at the “New Zealand Herald.” Mr Williams said that the return to work came so that a meeting with the company could be held today with the help of the Christchurch mediator, Mr Maurice Teen.
