Bill to ban N.Z. imports
NZPA-AP Washington A United States member of Congress, Mr Dick Cheney, has introduced a bill that would bar major United States imports from Australia and New Zealand. The bill, presented on February 7, has been referred to the committee on ways and means but no
further action has been taken, according to Mr Cheney’s press officer, Ms Patty Howe. It would cut off United States imports of Australian and New Zealand lamb, beef, wool, and uranium. The bill contained no statement of motives for the projected action, she said.
