Geeson on run north —tip-off

The Addington Prison escaper, Larry Geeson, was still at large late last evening, defying a police search throughout New Zealand. The police searched several Christchurch addresses after reported sightings of Geeson at the week-end, but found no sign of him, said Detective-Sergeant Tom Gorman yesterday. The Auckland police reported that a source close to Geeson said that he was likely to be making for Auckland. Geeson. who escaped from Addington Prison on Wednesday, is now believed to have left Christchurch. His de facto wife, aged 25, and his son, aged nine, disappeared from their home in Christchurch last week.

Geeson was jailed for his part in a gang killing in Christchurch last year.
