Midgley merger

Midgley and Company, Christchurch chartered accountants, will merge with the national accounting firm, Peat Marwick Mitchell and Company, on February 1. The Christchurch > firm was founded in 1958 by Mr J. B. Midgley, and he was joined in 1973 by his son, Mr J. H. Midgley. Mr J. B. Midgley will become a consultant for the merged practice, and Mr J. H. Midgley, will be a partner with Peat,

Marwick Mitchell. Midgley and Company will also move from its Armagh Street premises to the Christchurch offices of Peat, Marwick Mitchell on February 1. Mr J. H. Midgley said that the practice had grown substantially in the last decade, and a merger was considered to be in the best interest of the firm’s clients because of the more sophisticated requirements for modern business.
