Squash rankings
Justine Marriott, of Canterbury, the national girls’ under-19 squash champion, is the top-ranked player for her age-group in the New Zealand Squash Rackets Association’s junior ranking lists for 1984.
However, in the over-all junior girls’ rankings Mar-
riott has had to concede the No. 1 position to Marie Pearson, of Auckland. Three Canterbury junior boys have also been given national rankings. Sean O’Brien is ranked No. 3 in his under-17 age-group and Tristan Franklin is the No. 2 in the under-13 section.
Steven Wren, a member of the New Zealand team which contested the world junior championships in Calgary, Alberta, earlier this year, is ranked fifth over all.
