Man jailed for part in robbery
PA Auckland A man has been jailed for two years for his part in an aggravated robbery which left the victim unconscious in hospital for several days. The prevalence of such vicious assaults called for a stem response from the courts, said Mr Justice Thorp in the High” Court in Auckland when he jailed Tufue Taumata Tutaia, aged 26, unemployed, of no fixed address. Tutaia had pleaded guilty to a charge of robbing
Graham Klenner of ?180. The Court was told that another man who had pleaded guilty to the same offence was earlier sentenced to three years jail. His Honour said that the two men had viciously attacked their victim who suffered a fractured skull, and broken nose and jaw from being kicked about the head. If people “hunted” in groups of two or more each of them had to accept responsibility for the end results of their actions, he said.
