PA - < Wellington Police officers may soon be paid up to $lOOO for suggestions to improve their service. ’? ' ,’ , * ; - The Commissioner - of Police, Mr Ken, Thompson, told delegates at yesterday’s New'' Zealand " ‘ Police Officers’ Guild conference in Wellington that a national suggestion scheme was planned. This was one idea on improving communication
within police districts and headquarters that came out of a recent police management conference, he said. At a local. level, staff could make suggestions on improvements" in their district, or if a suggestion had national significance, take it to’ headquarters where it would be evaluated. Mr Thompson said that there was money in worthwhile innovative ideas. Payments would range from $25 to $lOOO.
