Record price for Hodgkins
Wellington reporter A record price of $53,000 was paid for a Frances Hodgkins painting at auction in Wellington last evening. New Zealand art buyers went on a spending spree the week before the Budget and high prices were paid for a number of works. The well advertised Turner water-colour of Venice was sold to a New Zealand buyer for $29,000.
