Economical Citroen

Citroen has come up with what could be the successor to the 2CV at the Paris Motor Show. It is the ECO 2000, a four-seater saloon claimed to be capable of covering (in European terms) more than 100 miles on a single gallon of petrol at a steady 56 miles an hour. This three-cylinder 750 cu cm plastic-bodied car is just 345.7 cm in length and is said to have a top speed of 140km/h.

Its aerodynamic styling is probably responsible for its economy and performance. Its ultra-smooth body has a 0.21 co-efficient of drag.
