Sua disappoints

PA Auckland Fijian boxer, Asea Nama, scored a unanimous points decision over the New Zealand light-heavyweight champion, Alex Sua, in a 10-round cruiserweight contest in Auckland on Monday evening. Back for only his fourth fight in eight months, Sua offered little to the fans who had come in the hope of seeing a worthy challenger for the Commonwealth erown.

Instead they were bored by a ponderous champion who seemed unable to change his tactics and shuffled slowly forward and threw few punches in anger.

Nama is no world-beater, but at least he kept throwing some leather and that alone got him the decision. The judges gave it to the visitor by between three and five points and nobody in the crowd argued with them.
