11-pup litter

Arkarita, the winner of the 1982 New Zealand and South Island greyhound championships at Queen Elizabeth II Park, gave birth to a litter of 11 pups this week. The litter, by the Hendersonbased sire, Metal Band, consists of five dogs and six bitches and all are brindle in colour, as is their dam.

All are perfectly well, according to Arkarita’s partowner, Peter Kane, who raced the daughter of Arkaroola and Katherine Moran in partnership with his wife, Noelene. Mr Kane reports that another of their former talented performers, Killarney Angel, is due to whelp shortly to Club’s Colours.
