John Henry’s second Arlington

NZPA-Reuter Chicago John Henry, of the United States, thoroughbred racing’s all-time leading money-winner, overtook another American horse, Royal Heroine, in the straight to win the fourth running of the Arlington Million on Sunday. It was John Henry’s second victory in three starts in the mile and a quarter race which this year attracted horses from four countries. Gato del Sol, another American representative and winner of the 1982 Kentucky Derby, finished third, and Nijinsky’s Secret, from Canada, fourth. Ridden by Chris McCarron, John Henry won by a length and three-quarters in 2:01.4. John Henry earned 5600,000, increasing his lifetime earnings to $5,482,792.
