The sarong
Sir, — Allow me to point out to the fashion writer, Paula Ryan, that the use of that wonderful adaptable garment, the sarong, is not confined to the adornment of the female body. Throughout Asia, millions of men, of not only one race, and of all occupations, wear sarongs both about the house and garden, in the evening and for sleep-wear. Its usefulness as a portable changing screen on the beach should also not be overlooked. — Yours, etc., ANDREW SULLIVAN, Waimate. August 29, 1984.
