Aurora again busy
Trading remained active on a firmer New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, although volume was down from the 8M mark set on Monday. More than 3.5 M shares were traded for a turnover of $5.6M and rises totalled 63 to the falls 34. A further 945,000 Aurora shares were traded at a steady 240 c, but Feltex lost 18c to 230 c in trading of nearly 150,000 shares after Chase Corporation had satisfied its needs. Dalgety Crown, Fletcher Challenge, and NZ Forest Products were among issues to firm, but Carter Holt, Goodman, and Wattie eased. Walker and Hall rose 50c after splitting its 100 c shares into 50c units, but Jarden Corporation was prominent on a loss of 80c. Repco Corporation eased 1c in spite of announcing a profit above that predicted when Andrews and Beaven, MSI Corporation and Repco New Zealand merged. The Barclays industrial index firmed 1.78 points to 1251.55.
