Taranaki in form
PA Gisborne Taranaki made an impressive start to the North Island second division rugby championship when it overwhelmed Poverty Bay, 58-3, at Gisborne yesterday. Taranaki scored 10 tries in its biggest victory over Poverty Bay. The full-back,
Kieran Crowley, was in good form, scoring two tries and converting nine. Scorers: Taranaki 58 (Crowley (2), C. McAlister (2), R. Elmes, R. Wishnowsky, W. Bunn, M. Dudley, C. Cooper and L. Bunn, tries; Crowley 9 conversions) beat Poverty Bay 3 (I. Ngatai, penalty goal).
