Clean sweep for Muff

Peter Muff, of Christchurch, made a clean sweep of the Canterbury Branch Jet Boat Association’s trophies on the Waimakariri River on Saturday. In his boat Konvecta, Muff won both ; the Glasscraft Trophy for the fastest over-all time on Saturday, and the Savage Marine Trophy for the fastest time in the series. From the time he started the race at Kairaki, he was never seriously challenged and extended his margin over Steve Kirner by a further six minutes, j John Watson, who. was challenging Kirner for second place, was involved in an incident with another boat that lost him 10 minutes. A large field of 48 boats started the race but mechanical problejns took their toll
