Coberger skis strongly
Hana Coberger of Christchurch put in an outstanding performance to win the under 11 girls’ section of the Look South Island junior ski championships at the Ohau ski-field at the week-end.
Excellent conditions greeted more than 100 young racers from all over the South Island, and for the first time two teams from the North Island were entered. Turoa and Whakapapa racers travelled down to the south to gain race experience. The Spalding Gold Cups for the top junior skiers in the South Island were won by Fiona Patterson, of Gore, and Nicholas Boyer, of Queenstown, while the Wilson Neill trophy was won by the Wakatipu Ski Club.
