Averill House Hospital to be sold
The Nurse Maude District Nursing Association will sell the Averill House Hospital for Men to another charitable organisation when the association completes extensions to its Memorial Hospital project. The extensions, which involve adding a third floor to the McDougall Avenue Hospital, are expected to take eight months. Patients from Averill House will then be
cared for at Memorial Hospital as will all others of the association. A tender for the work has been accepted. A statement given after a meeting of the association’s board this week said that it hoped to sell Averill House to some other charitable organisation which would be able to use it to meet community need.
