30 years jail for Negri
NZPA-AFP Rome The philosopher. Toni Negri, regarded by the authorities as a mastermind of Italian terrorism in the 19705, was sentenced in absentia yesterday to 30 years imprisonment at the end of a mass trial of Leftists.
Negri who, besides writing books on Descartes and Hegel, founded the Workers Autonomy movement, was convicted of complicity in killing a policeman during a hold-up in 1974. Negri, now g believed to be in France, has always proclaimed his innocence.
