Advertisments on Sunday
Sir, — Advertising on television on Sunday should, in my opinion, be viewed as one would an old chair with a protruding spring, and dealt with in a similar fashion. As one who uses the media for advertising, I can understand the rewards to the Broadcasting Corporation and the pressure that they could be under. However, is Sunday not supposed to be a day of rest? I can think of nothing worse than the enjoyable programmes being continually interrupted by the neverending money-making machinery. Surely New Zealand is not so hard up that it has to sell every small section to the advertising market. — Yours, etc., ROGER LUSBY. June 11, 1984.
