Govt says no to Samoans

PA Wellington The Government has decided npt to have a Minister for Pacific Island Affairs. The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Muldoon, said that the Samoan community has asked for such a Minister some months ago. “I have given it consideration and discussed it with the Cabinet. Our belief is that Pacific Island affairs are handled piecemeal really by various Ministers and that is the best way to do it,” he said.
