Queensland picks team
NZPA-AAP Brisbane Dale Shearer, rated by rugby league experts as the best wing from North Queensland since Kerry Boustead, was named last evening in the state team to play New Zealand. Shearer, aged 18, is one of four new names in the side for the Kiwi match to be played at Lang Park tomorrow evening. The test discard, Mai Meninga, will lead the team which exludes Queensland's nine present test players who are unavailable. The team is: Colin Scott, Joe Kilroy, Mai Meninga, Brett French. Dale Shearer, Grant Rix. Ross Henrick, Bob Lindner, Wally FullertonSmith. Gavin Jones, Ritchie Poulsen, Eddie Muller. Bob Kellaway. Reserves: Tony Currie, Tony Kajewski. The other new players are Rix. Muller and Kajewski.
