Response invited on ethnic relations
Groups throughout NewZealand have been invited to answer a questionnaire on ethnic relations. The New Zealand Futures Trust has spent more than a year preparing a study of what the different New Zealand ethnic groups have in common.
The questionnaire was devised by a group representing the major ethnic groups in New Zealand — Indian, Chinese, Polynesian, Maori and European. All aspects of New Zealand’s future are covered, as well as questions on personal behaviour, birth, death, marriage, land use, and other issues.
The questionnaire was the first part of the trust study. It would also try to devise appropriate relevant policies and action to implement those policies. Groups were now invited to respond to the questionnaire, said the trust’s chairman, Professor James Duncan.
Any kind of group could respond, including ethnic groups, schools, churches, service clubs, women’s groups, councils, households, or industrial firms. A group wanting to answer the questionnaire should write to Professor Duncan, 192 Tinakori Road, Wellington.
