Brierley ups offer
NZPA-Reuter Sydney Industrial Equity, Ltd, will increase its offer for APA Holdings, Ltd, to 425 c from 375 c, subject to APA directors’ recommending the offer, Industrial Equity’s chairman, Mr Ron Brierley, said yesterday. Mr Brierley said the increased offer, which would be unconditional, was also subjejct to a proposed one-for-five bonus issue’s not proceeding and to an interim dividend’s being deferred. He said the offer would be reduced 7c a share if the interim dividend were paid to acceptors. The lEL offer, through its subsidiary, Fund Investment Pty, Ltd, expired on June 19.
