Free bargaining
Sir,—As an ex freezing works union member, I think that nonunion members should have to go and negotiate their own pay rates and conditions with their employers. I must concede that Mr Bolger’s idea really is excellent, because it would completely handle any potential rift between union and non-union members. If you are in the union, then the union delegates and officials can negotiate on your behalf, and if you choose not to belong to the union, then on wages and other conditions you are on your own. — Yours, etc., 808 PIERCE. 5 May 26, 1984. <
