Left case blown up
PA Auckland A floor manager for television drama inadvertently caused some real-life drama in an Auckland street yesterday after he parted company with his briefcase. The police sealed off the area, explosives experts used a line to drag the case out of the Manchester Unity building, in Hobson Street, and blew it up.
The “suspicious-looking” brown case was found in the foyer of the building about 10.45 a.m. Television New Zealand has offices in the building and it was later revealed that the case belonged to a floor manager from the drama department. It contained magazines, keys and a book.
