Backlog of air passengers
PA Wellington Airlines coped with a Christmas Eve-sized rush yesterday after bad weather closed Wellington Airport for most of Wednesday. About 1300 passengers were stranded when 92 flights were cancelled on Wednesday, and more than 4300 people were due to fly out of Wellington yesterday.
An Air New Zealand spokesman said he expected the backlog would be cleared by last night.
