KAIKOURA COUNTY COUNCIL RURAL HOUSING LOAN 1984 $60,000 SPECIAL ORDER RESOLUTION NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Kaikoura County Council, held on Thursday, April 19, 1984, the following resolution was passed and It will be submitted to a meeting of the Kaikoura County Council on Thursday, May 17, 1984, at 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Kaikoura, for confirmation as a special order. RESOLUTION That in pursuance and exercise of the powers Invested in it by the rural housing act 1939, the Kaikoura County Council proceed to raise a special loan of $60,000 from the Housing Corporation of N.Z. for the purpose of making advances to farmers. That such a loan be called “Rural housing Loan 1984” and shall be for a term of 25 years. That the Interest on the said loan shall be at the rate of 7.5 per cent per annum. That the said loan, together with the Interest thereof shall be repaid by 50 equal aggregate half yearly Instalments of principal and Interest The first of such instalments being due is payable 6 months from the date of receipts of the amount from the said Corporation thereafter at six monthly Intervals during the currency of the loan or until the full amount outstanding has been repaid. That for the purpose of providing for the repayment of Interest and the principal and other charges of the said loan, the Kaikoura County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought nought four (.004) of a cent in the dollar upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital value of all the rateable property comprised in the whole of the County of Kaikoura and that the special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of the loan being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off. NOTE: It Is not intended to levy or collect this rate as all charges on the loan will be met by the farmers to whom the advance Is made. It is further publicly notified that a poll of ratepayers will be taken if not less than 15 per cent of the ratepayers whose names are inscribed on the ratepayers roll, by writing under their hands and addressed or sent by post to the Kaikoura County Council and received no later than 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 1984 demand that a pole be taken on the proposal.
