Relatives of dead man sought
PA Auckland The police have been unable to reach any relatives of a Taupo man who died after breaking his neck in a game of rugby league. The man, Mr Philip Laijpold, died in Middlemore Hospital on Saturday after being heavily tackled in a league match at Tokoroa on Anzac Day. The police believe they might not have the man’s correct name on their records. It is believed that he was also known as Philip Lapiollio. A girlfriend of the dead man has told the police that Mr Laijpold had a sister, Pania, and brothers called Joss and George. He had been in Taupo only a short time seeking work. He had previously lived in Whangarei and Wellington.
