NZPA-AP Los Angeles The actress, Shirley Jones, and her husband, Marty Ingels, have announced that a settlement has been reached in their $2O million libel suit against the “National Enquirer” ending a 4% year legal battle. Mr Ingels said the settlement, reached on March 30, provided for .an undisclosed payment to the couple by the “Enquirer.” It also provided for the publication of a five-paragraph retraction in the “Enquirer” and in advertisements the tabloid would take out in four major newspapers, he said. The comedian and his wife sued over a 1979 article that said he had driven her to drink.
