Achievement award

PA Wellington Mrs Anne Hawker, of Mosgiel, has received the Bank of New Zealand 1984 achievement award for the multiple sclerosis person of the year. The presentation was made at the seventeenth annual meeting of the National Multiple Sclerosis

Society of New Zealand, in Wellington. In 1982, Mrs Hawker established the Mosgiel Disabled Living Centre, which now has between 30 and 40 members and tries to prevent disabled people becoming isolated and losing their independence, initiative and confidence.
