Mrs Jenny McMahon says Perendale yarns have advantages over other wools in fashion design. “It doesn’t lose its shape, it has incredible warmth for less weight, and it washes like a dream. I am proud of it,” she said. McMahon’s Farm Yarns has more than 200 patterns for people to knit highfashion garments for themselves and save a lot of money. “The patterns show garments which would sell for $5OO can be made for about $40,” said Mrs McMahon.

Complicated wool fashion designs can be kitted using methods such as knitting a garment in strips from the band to the shoulder, she said. “We are bringing highfashion knitwear to everybody,” she says. “People are addicted to knitting.
