measurements had been good, said Mr Bell. The lambs were judged on a hew criteria worked out this "Season. Mr Bell said that a new format adopted this year at the works was a big improvement on past years. Farmers were able to see the winning pens’ rib-eye muscle ■ and fat content as the carcases were cut, to display these two vital export requirements. Results were: One lamb, any breed, suitable for pre-cut lamb trade, (gift lamb): K. B. Judson 1, H. J. Horn 2, L. V.McGrath 3, Nelson W. J. Moffat 4. Three lambs (shorn or woolly) for export: H. J. Horn 1, P. J. and W. J. Wells 2, J. C. Horn 3. " Three lambs (shorn or woolly), Romney, Corriedale, and Halfbred or crosses of these: wool breeds, mutton breed crosses excluded: H.G. Kston 1, D. J. Edge 2, K. ells 3. Three lambs for export (open to Y.F.C. members): D. R. Johnston 1, P. Smith 2, A. D. and C. C. Smith 3.
