Costello tour talk
Elvis Costello, a.k.a. “the Imposter,” and the Attractions are reported to be coming on a tour to New Zealand next month, according to “Melody Maker.” RCA’s New Zealand pro-, motions manager, Dave Jordan, said that the company had received a telex of an Elvis Costello and the Attractions tour starting on May 12, but no further information was available. It is known that the Wellington promoter, Stewart Mcpherson requested promotion material from RCA, which now handles Costello’s F-Beat label.
Jordan said that Mcpherson was out of the country at the moment.
Costello is at present touring America solo, according to “Melody Maker,” but rejoins the Attractions for a tour of New Zealand, Australia, and Japan in May.
The paper also reported that Costello was planning to record a new album in June. Talk about punching the clock.
