The appointees will be responsible for the provision of required nursing care for Medical, Surgical and Geriatric patients. The appointees shall be R.N., R.G.0.N., or R.Cp.N. Applicants should have a background in social work or counselling and either formal training in the field of alcoholism or be prepared to . undertake such training. SUPERVISOR - NEWBORN UNIT Qualifications: RGON or RCpN preferred, also RM. A postbasic Diploma of Nursing or equivalent is desirable. Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care nursing as well as nursing management is essential. Experience in paediatric nursing would be an advantage. This Unit has 5 intensive-care costs and 25 specialcare cots and provides Neonatal Intensive care service for the central North Island region catering for 9000 deliveries/year. The Unit is modern and wellequipped. A Neonatal Intensive Care Inservice programme is provided each year. Duties: The continuing physiotherapy treatment of patients in the psychopaedic area of the Hospital who are already on a comprehensive rehabilitation programme and assisting in expanding physiotherapy services to the psychiatric areas of the Hospital. The appointee will also be required to assist in the ordering and maintenance of orthotic appliances, education of nursing staff and supervision of physiotherapy aides.
