A motor-cyclist, aged 37, was killed in Christchurch late on Saturday evening, after his machine was struck by a utility vehicle. The Christchurch police had not released the man’s name by last evening because of difficulties in advising his relatives. The accident happened about 11.40 p.m. when a utility vehicle travelling west on Yaldhurst Road struck a parked motor-cycle on which the man is believed to have been seated.

Two other persons suffered minor injuries in the accident, the police said. No further details were available last evening. A child, aged two, was taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car •in Rutherford Street, Woolston, about 6.30 p.m. yester-

day. The child’s name was not available late last evening.
