Casino plans ‘not dead’

PA Auckland Corporate Royale, which yesterday failed to meet a deadline to buy an Auckland site for a charity casino, said that the plans were not dead. The company had until yesterday to deposit $200,000 on the site with the Auckland City Council. The managing director, Mr K. C. Morgan, said that the company had been beaten by the council’s time restrictions. Finance was not available. He said new drawings were being made to include offices in the $lB million building. Mr Morgan said the drawings would be based on the original concept of a 1000-seat cabaret and casino, and he hoped to have plans before the City Council within two months.
