Float interest
The public float by Horticultural Industries, Ltd, the Auckland-based nursery and horticultural firm, is expected to be heavily oversubscribed when the issue opens on March 9. One director of Horticultural Industries said yesterday that a broking firm had had applications from its clients for 1 million shares in the company, but that it had, only been allocated
45,000. At a press conference Mr G. J. Whiteman, of the underwriters and organising brokers, Leuschke Whiteman and Company, said that in his 20 years of dealing in the sharemarket he had never experienced as much interest in an issue such as this.
The details of the prospectus will be released tomorrow.
