New shop for Access Data
Access Data, Ltd. is the latest company in Christchurch to open ground floor retail premises. Next week Access Data will move into new premises in Kilmore Street, opposite the Town Hall. The company has operated in Christchurch for nearly three years, from premises in the AMP building. Access Data is an Auck-land-based company, now 80 per cent owned b.v Autocrat Sanyo. It has previously been offering microcomputer systems to Christchurch businesses, largely based on Altos equipment. "We are hoping to take a
more retail approach." says Mr Prasanna Gulasekharam. of the company's Christchurch office. Within the next few weeks a board decision will be made as to what products will be sold in the new premises. Mr Gulasekharam expects the company to offer computers starting at the $lOOO price level. As well as yet-to-be-an-nounced makes of computers. Access Data will 1 continue to sell the Altos range and the Access portable computer. It will also sell the Japanese Star range of printers along with other computer equipment.
